Here are resources parents can use for helping their children, of ALL ages, learn about working, careers, self-esteem, money management, time management, looking for jobs and more!
Parents have so much to do as role models, teachers, and providers. We are working to build a list of free resources and links as well as items that you may want to purchase to help you in the many hats you wear.
Be sure you take a look at My First Resume -- a free resume-generating program available right here on our website. Discuss with your children the dangers of entering personal information on the internet. You may want them to omit such information and you can add it later after you print the resume.
Career Awareness at Home Pack 1 : Grades K - 3
Here is a package to increase career awareness and help your young students learn more about themselves. This package increases career awareness and self-knowledge at a deeper level. Students are encouraged to research a career. The Occupational Outlook: An Exploration Book for Teens provides a good reference for this age group to learn about different careers. Includes Careers for Me Plus, a 24-page interest inventory which reviews educational goals, activities, interests and includes information on resume writing and lots of career information. Users are encouraged to research two careers of interest, of which the Quick Job Reference guide in the back of the booklet will help. High School Career Awareness and Job Search
