Job Hunt: Find It, Get It, Keep It HS - Adult
We shouldn't call this just a workbook. Job Hunt is a resource to keep for reference for years to come! Divided into five sections, this consumable starts with the basic steps to determine what kind of first (or second) job would be best suited for the user. It is not meant to be an interest inventory, but it does guide the user to assess some of the basic things job hunters must ask: Do I have transportation? Do I want to work outdoors or by myself? How many hours can I really handle?
The second part reviews how to look and apply for jobs. It reviews networking, ads, the computer and how to drop in at a business and ask to apply. It also covers how to fill out an applicaiton, follow-up calls and record keeping.
The third section is interviewing. Examples of ways to interview, dress, greet people and how to respond to some of the more obvious questions are covered.
The fourth section is how to manage your money now wthat you are earning a paycheck. This topic is a good thing for most people to review! Understanding goals will also help budget. It helps understand interest and debt.
We highly recommend this workbook with the video series Get a Job. Also using Resume Writing for Teens completes the job-seeking process. While Job Hunt works best when used with instruction, there is enough information in it for individuals to work through it on their own as a self-guided tour through the job-hunting process. 48 pages, ©2007.
